👋🏽 Hi there, it's Lissy speaking

I specialize in helping teams deliver user focused solutions, balancing design + strategy with research insights.

Right now, I'm working with Channel3.gg, using UX strategy to gamify onboarding, enhance social feeds, and run user research to nurture community for gamers.

Here are some ways I've helped clients and teams

Some of the industries I've worked in

Examples of projects I've supported before

For nearly 10 years, I've uncovered and solved users' real-world problems in different industries using the same 3 major phases:

Discover

I dive into user research to uncover insights and develop a deep understanding of users and the problem space, facilitating empathy throughout the process.

Design and Iterate

I encourage a culture of exploration and experimentation, looking for diverse ideas and concepts before refining and iterating on the most promising ones to ensure they effectively address user needs and evolving requirements.

Optimize

I embrace continuous improvement, keeping an eye on designs post-release to keep them aligned with user needs, assess UX outcomes, and stay responsive to changing circumstances.

You have questions. I have answers.

> What project are you most proud of?

I enjoy work that lets me play in a big, ambiguous space and requires me to learn and distill information. The caretaker apps at Circulo Health are a great example. I had the freedom to chase down the answers in any way I saw fit, and it led to several wins for our users, the team, and the business.

>Tell me about a project that didn't go according to plan.

At Learning Ally, a lot of my strategic plans flew out the window! As the experience lead, I had to get scrappy about how to make meaningful change in the education space.

>Which parts of design are you most passionate about?

My strategy for Hagerty's homepage design shocked everyone, including me! I love when research reveals new insights and facts that keep me learning, humbled, and surprised. It's the part of design that fuels my curiosity and my desire to build the right things.

>Explain the role of analytics in your design process.

One of my favorite examples of this is from Hagerty, when I put on my detective hat and followed a trail of analytics from initial scent, to interviews, to prototypes to get down to the real problem.

Folks say some nice things about me...🥹

"Lissy is an extraordinary UX designer, illustrator, researcher, strategist, and thought leader. At our company, she completely owned an entire go-to-market initiative and fostered it from ether to a complete experience, conducting research to understand the problem space, prioritizing products and features to meet user needs, creating experiments to test hypotheses, casting an experience vision story that helped paint the picture for the entire organization of what we were building towards, and designing thoughtful and inclusive final products that ended up being the core of the business.

In short, Lissy is an absolute astounding person, and an amazing leader. I am honored to work with her."

-from a former manager

"What I value about Lissy is her dedication to uncovering user needs and making design decisions based on sound analyses. She’s mindful of how her work affects people, cares about solving real problems, and questions assumptions about user needs."

-from a ux research colleague

"Lissy is a true master of her craft, and a fantastic teacher. Lissy comfortably navigates ambiguity and has continuously guided our team towards lightbulb moments about our users and opportunities to positively transform their experience."

-from a product manager colleague

"In our short time working together, I have gained significantly more experience from Lissy than in my traditional academic studies. In all of our encounters, Lissy exemplified what it means to go above and beyond, whether that be fervently ideating, questioning, or thinking about the repercussions of a decision. In other words, Lissy is the ideal, enthusiastic user advocate who seamlessly combines design and research to come up with astute solutions."

-from a ux design mentee

"As my mentor during my time as a UX design intern at Hagerty, Lissy selflessly took me under her wing, going above and beyond her job duties to teach me the ins and outs of the industry. She was a constant support throughout my internship, providing help and insight when needed, but was careful to only provide just enough help for me to come up with the solutions on my own."
